In November 2020, Brooklinn Khoury experienced a severe dog attack from her cousin’s pet, which resulted in significant physical trauma to her upper lip. 7 Post-Dog-Attack Surgeries
The journey to recovery after the dog attack was arduous. “Essentially, my doctor is reconstructing the top lip in this surgery—shaping a Cupid’s bow and central columns to enhance the aesthetic appearance,” Khoury shared with PEOPLE in February 2023. “My doctor is very meticulous and aims for perfection in every step.” By that time, she had undergone seven reconstructive surgeries and was preparing for the final procedures, steadily progressing toward full recovery.
Loving Herself is Key
Despite facing ridicule on social media, Brook remained undeterred, choosing to use her voice to make a difference. She practices and preaches self-love. “I have always been a confident person, and I’ve never really cared about what I look like. I genuinely love myself and the way that I look, but society doesn’t always think the same as me,” she said. “The hardest part has been dealing with people’s negative responses. But what I’m posting is for someone else who might be experiencing something similar, so they have someone to relate to. I post in the hope that if anyone else is going through it, they can find comfort in me.”

Despite the physical challenges and numerous surgeries she has faced, she maintains an active lifestyle, still enjoying skateboarding and spending time with her friends. – Take slow, deep breaths. This not only grounds humans but also calms dogs, as they respond to body language.
– Respect the dog’s cues and body language.

Marrs shares a helpful technique for approaching a new dog. She advises, “Start by patting your leg to invite the dog to come to you. If the dog approaches, you can begin petting them. After a few seconds, pause and observe their reaction. If the dog indicates they want more petting, continue.
